Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through coastalyachtsales.co and through related communications with Coastal Yacht Sales, LLC when we act as a yacht brokerage, respond to an inquiry, provide buyer or seller representation, manage a listing lead, provide inventory alerts, or otherwise communicate with you about our services.
This policy does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party websites, marketplaces, manufacturers, dealers, service providers or other businesses that may be linked from our website or involved in a transaction.
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the website and how you interact with our team. It may include:
- Contact information such as your name, email address, phone number, city, state and other information you choose to provide.
- Inquiry information such as the yacht, model, price range, location, showing, valuation, purchase, sale or other request you submit.
- Saved-search and website preference information when you use features such as saved yachts, recently viewed yachts, inventory alerts or similar website tools.
- Communications that you send to us by form, email, text message or other communication channel.
- Transaction-related information that may be necessary when you engage us for brokerage services, including information needed to prepare documents, coordinate deposits, perform due diligence, complete a closing, meet legal requirements or otherwise carry out the transaction.
- Technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from technical information, interactions with website features and similar usage data.
How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you when you submit a form, request a valuation, inquire about a yacht, contact a broker, sign up for marketing or inventory alerts, communicate with our team, or engage us in a brokerage transaction.
We may also receive information from referral sources, yacht-listing marketplaces, professional brokerage networks, business partners and service providers when they send us a lead or information connected to a legitimate brokerage inquiry.
Certain technical information may be collected automatically through cookies, logs, analytics technologies and similar tools when you use the website.

We may use personal information to:

AI Assistant + Broker Requests
Our website offers an optional AI assistant powered by OpenAI. When you choose to use AI chat, your messages and recent conversation context are sent to OpenAI to generate responses. Please do not enter sensitive personal, financial or transaction information into the chat. You may request broker assistance without using AI chat.
The broker-request form is separate from AI chat. Contact information entered in that form is not sent to OpenAI by the assistant. When you submit the form with permission to contact you, we save your contact information, boating requirements, requested next step and permission record in our customer relationship management system so our team can respond. Submitting a broker request does not subscribe you to ongoing marketing.
The assistant temporarily maintains conversation context to support your chat session. The full chat transcript is not automatically added to your CRM inquiry; include any details you want a broker to receive in the broker-request form. OpenAI may retain certain API data for security and abuse monitoring under its applicable data-handling policies.
AI responses may contain errors. A Coastal Yacht Sales broker must confirm listing availability, vessel condition, pricing and appointments.
Marketing Choices
When you choose to receive marketing updates, new listing information, market updates or similar communications, we may use the contact information you provided for those purposes.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not prevent us from sending non-marketing communications that are necessary to respond to your request or manage an active transaction or client relationship.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to maintain appropriate business and transaction records, to resolve disputes, to enforce agreements, and to comply with applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting and recordkeeping obligations.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
No website, network, storage system or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use care when sending sensitive information electronically.
Privacy Rights + Requests
Depending on where you live and the law that applies to your information, you may have rights relating to personal information we hold about you. Those rights may include the ability to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of certain information, and in some jurisdictions the ability to object to or opt out of certain types of processing.
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Certain information may be exempt from a request when we need to retain it to comply with law, maintain transaction records, protect legal rights or satisfy another permitted purpose.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review the matter.

The website may link to yacht-listing marketplaces, manufacturers, dealers, social media platforms, mapping services, videos, service providers or other third-party websites. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies and practices. Coastal Yacht Sales is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

If you access the website or communicate with us from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.
